I went on the Polly Pocket website and decorated a house !
I can’t say I’ve ever choked a cat on a pill, but I worked in a veterinary clinic and saw all sorts of upsetting things and fostered some kittens who had been malnourished since birth… and sometimes no matter how hard you try, bad things happen. And it’s not your fault.
Luckily, you have a variety of other options that emergency situations do not always have. My cat is an enormous brat, so if I had to give her a pill I would grind it up into powder and put it into some wet kitty food or tuna. I would recommend giving that a try. I know some cats won’t eat that either, though. If all else fails and you don’t feel comfortable giving your cat any more pills by shoving them into her mouth and trying to coax her to eat them, your vet may have other options. I have definitely gotten some horse medications that come in a tube, which is a little easier to force down… and, if it’s an option, giving animals shots is a whole lot easier than it sounds.
Your best bet, for now, is probably finding something that your cat thinks is delicious that you could hide a crushed pill in.
